One of the things that was great about my childhood was that my family went everywhere. I loved that I got the opportunity to go to a lot of places most people have never been. Because we were so close to the Grand Canyon while we were in Flagstaff, we took the kids there for a day to see how very grand the canyon is.
Dash was a big fan of the bus.
We went to a ranger presentation for kids. The ranger was really fun and the girls learned a lot about how the Grand Canyon was formed.
Then was the big moment. We finally saw the canyon. The girls weren't expecting it and were blown away. We tried to prepare them, but theres nothing like seeing it.
We walked down a trail for a little while.
Some mules passed us, Sue was happy about that.
Then we hopped on the bus a few more times to see the canyon from different places. We walked along the rim on a trail too, which was very cool. We only almost lost Caylee off the edge once.
We had lunch a long that walking trail.
I plan on taking the kids to lots more National Parks and important places. We had a good, and exhausting, time at the Grand Canyon.
