Tree Hunting

This year we went tree hunting outside Marleeville.  As always, we went with Nolan and Susan and Jena.  It was a cold day, but it wasnt snowing and there was no snow on the ground so that was really nice.  Once we got moving and in the sun, it was really nice out.

We went up one mountain and didn't see any Christmas tree worthy trees.  So after about an hour we hiked back down the hill and back in the cars to go a little ways up the road.

We got to our second place and it was all in the shade.  There was a little snow on the ground too.  BUt mostly, the kids were tired.  When Braelyn was laying on the cold ground complaining she was thirsty and Caylee was crying because she had tripped and fell, Bret looked over and shouted, "Look, a tree!"  We inspected it for about ten seconds, decided it was good enough and took it home.  It turned out to be a nice tree even with our hasty choice.  As always, when we got back to the van we had hot chocolate and snacks and the children were happy again.  Good times.

Then to top off the day, Nolan and Bret made a nice warm cozy fire.  Dash especially loved that.
