My Mom turned 60 at the end of June. Traditionally, a big party is thrown when someone turns 60 in my Mom's family. We had a Lord of the Rings/ Hobbit theme and it turned out really fun.
My grandma and Aunt were able to come join the festivities.

We set up the tee and had a few bats out for the girls to occupy themselves.
Since Hobbits eat lots of pastries and meat, we had an abundance of food.
We decorated with pictures drawn by Abby, Kenzie and Maddy and 60 little balloons.
We each had a hobbit name and we played some Lord of the Rings trivia and read some riddles.
She opened presents and had a little theme of "60 Things". She got 60 pieces of licorice candy, a 60 piece puzzle etc. I made her a "60 Things We Love About You" book that all of us contributed to. It was really fun.
